All Critical Updates and Service Packs should be installed. Some updates are required to be done individually, while others can be bundled together and installed at the same time. The Windows Update site will guide you as you try to update. Some systems may be required to update and reboot several times. Service packs can be time consuming and require up to an hour of processing.
Microsoft releases updates frequently. You should check for Windows Updates each week.
Most computers in our school district are set to download critical updates automatically. When a new update is downloaded, a small Windows globe appears in the system tray located near the clock on the taskbar. Simply click once on the globe and select install.
