WILDCAT EMAIL
Email Client or Web Based Email?
The preferred method of email for Valdosta City Schools is through the use of Microsoft Outlook Express. The Outlook Express email client will give most users the needed options and flexibility needed to manage their account. Users may use other email clients (ie. Netscape), but they are not supported by the Technology Department.
Web Based Email (iMail Web Messaging)
Users in the Valdosta City School System can access their email account through the use of Web Browser. You must be using Internet Explorer 5.5 or higher. The web based email is a convenience to allow users to check their email away from their main computer whether across the hall at another computer or across the country at a conference. The web based email does not have as many options or near the flexibility of the Outlook Express client, but it does fill a need for users away from their main computer. Users can use the web based version as their primary tool for managing email, but they should understand there are limitations.
